The 39th International Women’s Day celebration at the Ministry of Territorial Administration on March 8th, 2024 was a vibrant event marked by a remarkable march past along the 20th May Boulevard, that brought together women from diverse backgrounds. This year’s women’s day was celebrated on the theme « Invest in women: accelerate Progress. » Presided over by the First Lady, Mrs. Chantal Biya, the occasion continued with a lively luncheon at the Ministry of Territorial Administration. MINAT women enjoyed musical performances, quizzes, delicious food, and drinks, and received prize awards. The festive atmosphere saw the participation of the Secretary-General of MINAT, Yves Christian Edoa Effa, who, in his speech, expressed gratitude to the Minister of Territorial Administration, Atanga Nji Paul, for ensuring the weeklong activities of IWD took place in good conditions. This was in the presence of MadameYap Mariatou, Secretary General of the International Civil Defense Organisation, MINAT officials and women from the central and decentralised services of MINAT. The program not only included dining and dancing but also highlighted Cameroon’s rich cultural heritage through performances by various women, adding unique flavors to the celebration and creating a truly memorable event. A rendezvous has been taken for next year for another edition.
